Legend Of Lord Varrah & Slaughter Of Hiranyaksha

It is said that not even a single card can be shaken against the will of God. This sentence is perfectly proven by Lord Vishnu when he created a significant event for the welfare of the world and performed an important role in that event.

Madhu and Ketabh Became The Gatekeepers Of Lord Vishnu As Jai And Vijaya

When Lord Vishnu had slaughtered two horrible monsters Madhu and Ketabha, who had appeared from the scum of his ears, At the same movement they praised Lord Vishnu in many ways with their subtle body. Pleased with them, Lord Vishnu offered them a divine body and appointed them as his gatekeepers. Lord Vishnu addressed them by the name of Jai and Vijaya.

The Curse Of Sankadik Sages To Jai And Vijaya

Jai and Vijaya served Lord Vishnu with complete dedication. Both of them used to pronounce the sacred mantras of Lord Vishnu. Once, looking at his powerful arms, they got curious about how much force is there in his strong arms. This thing could not be hidden from the omnipresent Lord Vishnu.

Sankadik Sages

Once inspired by the illusion (Maya) of Lord, The Sankadik Sages arrived at Vaikunth to meet Lord Vishnu. Jai and Vijaya stopped them at the door and did not let them go. Even after several arguments from the Sages, Jai and Vijaya did not allow them to meet with Lord Vishnu.

Enraged by the work of Jai and Vijaya, The Sankadik Sages cursed them that they would be born as a Monster in the Earth for next three births.

Lord Vishnu also appeared there to hear their conversation. He told Jai and Vijaya that Brahmins are revered for him and they can come to meet him at any time. Lord Vishnu spoke, "The curse of the Sages cannot be averted, So you both have to go to the Earth and take birth as a monster."

On realising their blunder, Jai and Vijaya apologised to Lord Vishnu and Sankadik Sages. They asked, "How would we get rid of the Monster life?" Then Lord Vishnu spoke, "I will incarnate myself on Earth to free you from the Monster life."

Birth Of Hiranyakashyap And            Hiranyaksha  👹

According to the curse of the Sankadik Sages, Jai and Vijaya were born as Hiranyakashyap and Hiranyaksha at the place of Sage Kashyap and Devi Diti. As soon as they were born, many bad omens appeared in the World. They both were extremely mighty warriors. At that time there was no other mighty warrior like them in the whole World.

Invasion On The Heaven By Hiranyaksha 👹

Both of them were extremely enraged after the Gods got right to hail in heaven. They considered the Gods to be their ultimate enemy. With the desire to gain authority over Heaven, Demon Hiranyaksha invaded Heaven. In the war, Indra and other Deities could not stay before Hiranyaksha. The Gods were defeated and panicked Deities went in the shelter of the supreme father Lord Bramha.

Even after acquiring authority over the Heaven, Hiranyaksha did not sit quietly. He made extremely terrible mischief on the Earth. He knew that the Gods were empowered by the sacrificial fire and the other spiritual work performed from the planet Earth, So he stopped the Spiritual work and Yagyas in the entire Earth.

 

Removal Of The Earth From Its Axis By Demon Hiranyaksha 👹

Hiranyaksha had made a hue and cry all over the Earth. He did an impossible task to make the Deities not able to regain power. Hiranyaksha removed the Earth from its axis with his infinite force and immersed it in the water by moving it into the Abyss.

Lord Brahma

The Deities became very concerned with this vicious act of Hiranyaksha. They went in the shelter of Supreme father Lord Brahma. They praised Lord Brahma in many manners.

Incarnation Of Lord Vishnu As Lord Varraha

To give their rights to the Gods and to protect the Earth, The operator of the world, Lord Vishnu had appeared from the nose of Lord Brahma as Lord Varraha. Lord Varraha had appeared in very short form from the nose of Lord Brahma, but upon seeing it, his form began to be visible throughout the Universe.

The Deities praised Lord Varraha in many manners. Lord Varraha replied he will soon slaughter Hiranyaksha and free them from fear." 

Re-establishment of The Earth On Its Axis By Lord Varraha 

Immediately Lord Varraha reached the Abyss. He lifted the Earth submerged in water from the facade of one of his molar and set it again on its axis. The Goddess Earth praised Lord Varrah in many manners for liberating her from the trap of awful Demon Hiranyaksha.

By the combination of raising and establishing the Earth, sweat particles of Lord Varrah fell to the ground, which led to the birth of the Son of Land, Bhomasur. The Son of the Earth became popular by the name of Narkasur.

Slaughter Of Hiranyaksha

Thereafter, Lord Varraha challenged terrible Demon Hiranyaksha for a war. The fierce battle then began between Demon Hiranyaksha and Lord Varraha. After a very brutal war, Lord Varraha slaughtered Hiranyaksha with the blows of his sharp hooves. Deities praised Lord Varraha in many ways.

Even after the slaughter of dreadful Demon  Hiranyaksha, Lord Varraha was very angry. At that time, Goddess Lakshmi incarnated as Goddess Varrahi and calmed down his anger.

Goddess Earth, Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva and all other Gods praised them by heart. Pleased, Lord Varraha gave many blessings to Goddess Earth and all other Deities. 

He built many rivers and mountains on Earth to make humans able to live. After freeing the entire Earth from the terror of Devils, Lord Varraha again came into his short form and disappeared into the nose of Lord Brahma.
