The vision of Lord Vishnu is wonderful in the world. His three-dimensional illusion (Maya) is spread all over the world. Lord Vishnu is great, he continues incarnates for the welfare of the world, and through that incarnation, he ignites the lamp of knowledge and devotion all over the world.
The son of Lord Brahma, Sage Kashyap had many wives. All the deities were born from his wife Aditi. But his second wife, Diti, gave birth to many demons. At the beginning of creation, Diti gave birth to two mighty and powerful monsters, and to kill them Lord Vishnu had to incarnate as Lord ЁЯРЧVaraha and Lord ЁЯжБNarasimha.
Even after being the sons of the same father, there was fierce enmity between the gods and demons. Tripowers had created the netherworld for demons and heaven for the deities. The demons were very upset after giving heaven to deities. In anger, Demon ЁЯС╣ Hiranyaksha removed the Earth from its axis. Thereafter, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Varaha and re-establish the Earth on its axis by killing the Demon Hiranyaksha.

Penance Of Lord Brahma By Demon Hiranyakashyap ЁЯС╣
Hiranyakashyap was filled with great fury after the killing of Hiranyaksha. He had considered Lord Vishnu as his enemy. With the desire to conquer the entire world, he decided to do the penance Of Lord Brahma.
He started the harsh penance of Lord Brahma. He kept on fasting and standing on one leg and did very hazardous austerity. The throne of Indra began to wobble by his harsh penance. Lord Indra made several efforts to dissolve his penance but he could not succeed. Indra was extremely frightened by his penance. He ordered Agni Dev to kill his pregnant wife, Kayadhu.
Birth Of Devout PrahladЁЯзТ
Lord Indra had wanted to kill Devi Kayadhu but suddenly Indra met with Sage Narad on the way. Narad explained to him that no one knows what is going to happen in the future, so you should free Devi Kayadhu. As a matter of Sage Narad, Lord Indra freed Devi Kayadhu.
Sage Narad reached to Narad Folk along with Devi Kayadhu. She became mesmerized by watching the atmosphere there. The climate was very divine as divine mantras of Lord Vishnu were being pronounced. Sage Narad urged Devi Kayadhu to spend some time there. After some time, in that pure environment, Devi Kayadhu gave birth to a child.ЁЯС╢
The boy was born smiling, so he was named Prahlad. Prahlad was under the patronage of Sage Narad. Narad Ji had established the devotion of Lord Vishnu in his mind. Prahlad was absorbed in the devotion of Lord Vishnu all the time.
Getting A Boon From Lord Bramha ЁЯСС
Many years had passed since Hiranyakashyap was doing penance of Lord Bramha. He had made harsh penance of Lord Brahma by suppressing his senses and following celibacy vow. Lord Brahma was very happy with his penance. Lord Brahma appeared in front of Demon Hiranyakashyap and asked him to get his desired wish.
Hiranyakashyap spoke to Lord Brahma," The Deity, The Yaksha, The Gandharva, The demon, The Human being, and no creature of your entire creation could kill me. Neither I could be killed in the day nor at night. Neither I die with any arms nor with a weapon. Neither I die in the Sky nor on Earth. Any Sage or Hermit could not curse me. Neither I die with any dry element nor with the wet element. Not any other ordinance could kill me.
No one could kill me even in the twelve months of the year. Neither I was killed inside nor outside." That cunning monster sought many blessings from Lord Brahma for his defense through the same blessing. Lord Brahma gave him the desired blessing and disappeared from there.
Hiranyakashyap had become very autocratic by receiving the boon. He soon took over the Heavenly folk, Gandharva folk, The Yaksha folk, and the Earth. Even after having authority over the universe he did not sit quite. He declared himself as the God of the world. Whoever did not obey his order, he used to give him the death penalty. During that period, people began to worship him as God.ЁЯЩП
The Advent Of Prahlad ЁЯзТ
When Hiranyakashyap got the news of his wife and son's safety, he called both of them to his palace. He met very happily with his wife and son. He sent his son Prahlad to Gurukul to get the demon education.ЁЯС╣
In Gurukul, Teachers used to teach the lessons of monstrous lore to there disciples. The teacher also emphasized that Hiranyakashyap is best and he is the only Lord of the world. Prahlad clarified to all the people in the Gurukul that only Lord Vishnu is the Lord of the world and we all should worship him. The child Prahlad gave a number of arguments to prove his point. The masters were deeply impressed by his opinion, but they did not say anything because of the fear of Hiranyakashyap.ЁЯС╣
Despotism of Hiranyakashyap ЁЯС╣
When Demon Hiranyakashyap heard about this incident, he called Prahlad including his masters in the palace. Hiranyakashyap tried to convince his son Prahlad that Vishnu is their enemy, so he should not worship him. He should worship only Hiranyakashyap because he is the Lord of the world.
Kind Prahlad spoke very lovingly to his father, The operator of the world is only Lord Vishnu. Therefore, I, you and the whole world should worship him. Hearing these words from child Prahlad Demon Hiranyakashyap was filled with anger and said, if you did not leave Vishnu devotion, I would kill you. Prahlad spoke to his father, only God has the right to kill and save. Saying that he began to recite the sacred mantras of Lord Vishnu.
Demon Hiranyakashyap was extremely angry at Prahlad. He ordered his soldiers to kill Prahlad. His soldiers attacked Prahlad with Mace, Pestle, and Sword but they could not destroy even a fraction of Prahlad. Hiranyakashyap became furious when he constantly heard the Vishnu mantras. He commanded the soldiers to knock down him from the mountain. When the soldiers knocked him down from the mountain, he got up safely reciting the pure mantras of Lord Vishnu.

Hiranyakashyap wanted to remove Lord Vishnu devotion from the heart of Prahlad at any cost but he could not succeed. He made several attempts to kill Prahlad. He put him in a cage full of snakes, wanted to drown into the sea, and gave many other sufferings so that he would attain death. But Prahlad was in the shelter of Lord Vishnu and he survived from every attack of Demon Hiranyakashyap.
Fierce Monstrous Act ЁЯС║
Hiranyakashyap was very distracted and he commanded the son of Guru Sukracharya to produce Demon Kritya from the sacrificial fire to kill Prahlad. A fierce Demon Kritya emerged from that sacrificial fire and she ran to slaughter child Prahlad. When even Demon Kritya could not kill Prahlad she attacked his evildoer with fire orbs and destroyed herself too. Watching his masters burning in the fire, the merciful Prahlad prayed Lord Vishnu to save his masters. His masters got life by the impact of his prayer.

Hiranyakashyap had a sister named Holika. She was blessed by Lord Brahma that a fire could not burn her. She suggested to his brother Hiranyakashyap to create a fire pit in which she will sit with Prahlad. They declared the full moon day of the month of Falgun for the fire bathing of Prahlad. On the full moon of the month of Falgun, Holika sat in the fire pit with Prahlad during the evening.

Due to improper use of the boon granted from Lord Brahma, Holika was burnt in that fire pit and Prahlad came out safely from that fire pit reciting the name of Lord Vishnu. This day is celebrated as Holika dahan on the full moon of each month of Falgun (March). People offer their evils in the fire pit and wish for happiness and prosperity from Agni Dev.ЁЯФе

Hiranyakashyap became frightened after the demise of Holika. He again sent kid Prahlad to Gurukul. In Gurukul, Prahlad began to teach the lesson of the devotion of Lord Vishnu to all the students. All the disciples of Gurukul had been absorbed in the devotion of Lord Vishnu.
Incarnation Of Lord Narasimha ЁЯжБ
Hiranyakashyap was deeply concerned with the work of Prahlad. He called Prahlad to him and asked, "what education you have received in Gurukul so far?"
Prahlad spoke, "The omnipresent Lord Vishnu is only Lord of the world. He is in every particle of this world. You should renounce your pride and should go under his shelter. After hearing Prahlad's sentence, Hiranyakashyap became very angry and pointed to a pillar, if your Lord Vishnu is omnipresent and is in every particle of the world, Is he also inside that pillar?
Hiranyakashyap spoke to Prahlad, tell me quickly otherwise I will kill you with my mace. In anger, he started beating that pillar with his mace.
Suddenly, the pillar was divided into two parts and like the mouth of a lion and the body of man, Lord Vishnu appeared from it, fiercely roaring as Lord Narasimha in a very angry state of mind. Hiranyakashyap was very frightened to see him. Lord Narasimha dragged him by the entrance of the palace, and between the same gates, he put him on his thighs and killed him by tearing his abdomen with his sharp claws during the evening.

Lord Narasimha was very angry even after the killing of Demon Hiranyakashyap. He wanted to destroy the whole world with his anger. Then goddess Lakshmi sent Prahlad to Lord Narasimha. In view of Prahlad, Lord Narasimha met him with great affection and took him in his lap.

He granted lots of gifts and blessings to Prahlad then he disappeared from there with Goddess Lakshmi.

Keeping in his mind all the boons given by Lord Brahma to Hiranyakashyap, Lord Narasimha had killed him. To slaughter Hiranyakashyap, he had created a new month called Purushottam, which is also popularly known as the Adik mas. In this month the work like charity, sacrificial fire etc.has great significance. The story of devout Prahlad provides the utmost peace to the mind of the teller and the listener.
